Invite Pierre’s to Your Halloween Party

Don’t be tricked: Candy isn’t the only treat enjoyed on Halloween. Ice cream can help make any Halloween gathering a spooktacular event.

Dress up those scoops

Let your imaginations run wild. Use nuts, dried fruit, candy or pre-made Halloween icing decorations to create jack-o’-lantern or ghost faces on scoops of French Vanilla Ice Cream or otherPierre's Pumpkin Scoops flavors. You could even use cake and cupcake decorations like these to turn scoops of Emerald Necklace Ice Cream into adorable little witches!

Just add sherbet

Pierre’s Sherbet and ¡Hola Fruta! Pure Fruit Sherbet are the perfect ingredients for any party punch or witch’s brew. Whether your recipe includes all the flavors of the Rainbow or unique sherbet flavors like Strawberry or Margarita, the options are so delicious … it’s scary! Don’t have your own recipe, visit our ¡Hola Fruta Recipe Page.

Fall flavors

For a true taste of autumn, serve seasonal delights like Pumpkin Pie Ice Cream or Cinnamon Ice Cream. These flavors may only be available for a limited time, but the variety of desserts you can make with them is anything but limited.

Use Cinnamon Ice Cream for easy apple tarts, cinnamon apple milkshakes and waffle bowl apple dumplings. Pumpkin Ice Cream is just as versatile. It’s great in a frozen pumpkin pie or luscious pumpkin milkshake garnished with crushed graham crackers. Best (and easiest) yet: Both of these fall flavors are delicious on their own.

Serve up ice cream novelties

Pierre’s single serve novelties are sure to please even the scariest ghost or prettiest princess. Save time (and make for an easier clean up) by offering an array of ice cream sandwiches, fruit pops, fudge pops, sundae cups and other ice cream novelties. Looking for something different? ¡Hola Fruta!® Fruit Bars are a great non-dairy treat.

Set up a sundae bar

Nothing makes a great party even better than a make-your-own sundae bar. Think of it as self-service dessert. Set up a buffet line featuring a variety of ice cream flavors, toppings and nonfat whipped topping. Everyone will have fun customizing their own dessert creation.

Clambake Recipes: Perfect Desserts for Fall Gathering

Clambakes are the quintessential autumn event. Although the tradition started in New England, it has spread across the country as home chefs and restaurant staff alike prepare menus of seafood boils, roast chicken, steamed clams, grilled steaks, lobster tails and other savory delights.

But no dinner party is complete without a delicious dessert. Here are five ideas for the final course of your fall clambake:

Waffle Bowl Apple “Dumplings”Cinnamon Premium Ice Cream

Apple dumplings are a pleasure to eat, but time-consuming (and messy!) to prepare. Instead of covering your kitchen counter with flour to create and roll yards of crust, try this quick sundae creation instead. Place scoops of Cinnamon Ice Cream in waffle cone bowls (which you’ll find in the baking aisle or near the ice cream section of your grocery store) and top with fresh, cooked apples and cinnamon or warmed apple pie filling. Enjoy!

Lemon Bars à la Mode

Lemon bars are a popular dessert choice for seafood-heavy menus. Serve warm lemon bars straight from the oven with dollops of Classic Vanilla Ice Cream for a refreshingly smooth treat. For an even easier (and dairy-free) alternative, scoop up Lemon Sorbet and top with fresh berries.

Snickerdoodle Ice Cream Sandwiches

Here’s an easy treat you can prepare in advance with our Cinnamon Ice Cream and store-bought or fresh-baked snickerdoodles. On a cookie sheet or platter, lay out rows of cookies, top sides down. Place scoops of ice cream onto each cookie and top with the bottom side of a second cookie. Place in the freezer until it’s time for dessert.

Of course, if you really love the taste of cinnamon and sugar cookies, dig into a dish of our Nun Better Snickerdoodle Ice Cream.

Blueberry Parfaits

Blueberry cobbler – made with fresh fruit from the harvest and plated à la mode – is a traditional New England clambake dessert. These easy-to-make parfaits capture that classic flavor with only three ingredients: Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, store-bought or home-baked shortbread cookies and, of course, blueberries. Place the ingredients in parfait cups or tumblers in alternate layers until you reach the top.

Milkshake Cocktails

Drink your dessert! Add a shot of spiced rum to our Pumpkin Pie Milkshake or Cinnamon Apple Milkshake recipes for a creamy autumn cocktail – the perfect night cap after a lovely clambake meal.

Easy Four-Ingredient Cinnamon-Apple Tarts

Cinnamon Apple TartApples – the bounty of the fall harvest – are a staple of seasonal recipes. From pies and dumplings to crisps and cobblers, there are many ways to enjoy apples of all tastes, textures and colors.

That’s why we came up with the idea for these four-ingredient cinnamon-apple tarts. Simple but delicious, this is our go-to recipe when we need a quick dessert. They are very easy to make but look elegant enough to serve at a dinner party. These tempting tarts have about 200 calories and offer a perfect fall-themed dessert.

IngredientsFresh Apples

Remove ice cream from freezer and place on counter to soften.

Dice two medium apples and place in microwave-safe bowl.  Add a bit of water to steam and a few sprinkles of ground cinnamon. Cook two minutes, or until apples are soft.

Beginning of TartPlace one small scoop of cinnamon ice cream in each of the graham crusts, pressing down to make a well. Return crusts to freezer to harden. If planning to prepare crusts ahead of time, cover with plastic wrap to preserve freshness.

Once apples have cooled down a little, remove crusts from freezer and begin to fill. Sprinkle cinnamon on top and serve immediately.

Just for fun, top with whipped cream or caramel sauce!

Cinnamon with ApplesauceLooking for something else to pair with our Cinnamon Ice Cream? Try drizzling warm, homemade applesauce over a scoop. It works great with French Vanilla Ice Cream, too!

Culinary Students Create Cool Desserts at Pierre’s Ice Cream Challenge

TriC Contest WinnersThe future of Cleveland’s culinary arts community showed what can be done with a little bit of ice cream and a lot of imagination in the finals round of the Pierre’s Ice Cream Challenge, held at the Cuyahoga Community College Hospitality Management Center at Public Square on April 28.

Under the direction of Chef Maureen Leonard, Tri-C Culinary Arts students were invited to create an original dessert or drink recipe using any Pierre’s Ice Cream frozen treat or flavor of their choice. The object of the competition was to create a unique, but simple dessert that could be recreated at home. The initial field was narrowed to five finalists.

The finalists presented their desserts for critique by a panel of esteemed judges, including Tri-C Campus President, Dr. J. Michael Thomson; Pierre’s President and CEO, Shelley Roth; Zack Bruell Restaurants Pastry Chef, Mia Amidi; and Scene Magazine Dining Editor and Q-104 Food Guy, Jason Beudert.
